What are UTM Parameters?

UTM Best Practices

  • Be consistent: Use lowercase, hyphens instead of spaces
  • Use a naming convention: e.g., platform-format-audience
  • Always tag paid campaigns: Facebook, Google, email links
  • Keep a UTM spreadsheet: Track all tagged URLs centrally
  • Don't use UTM on internal links: Only for external traffic sources
